Corporate Development Specialist

Objectives of the position:  Evaluation, assessment and support of new investment opportunities, in particular in the areas of market research and investment documentation (e.g. preparation and conduction of company valuations / due diligences; preparation of memorandum of intent; support of the investment management team along the acquisition process; corporate finance, etc.)

Area of responsibility

  • Market analysis, deal sourcing, identification and approach of multipliers and decision makers, development and presentation of management presentations, development and implementation of a group structure, etc. 
  • Project-based support in group management (e.g. project controlling, reporting, budgeting, etc.) 
  • Develop and help implement strategies for portfolio company to increase revenue, improve operations, strengthen financial controls, and increase shareholder value
  • Extensive financial modelling including sensitivity analysis to drive potential investment opportunities
  • Participate in negotiations on behalf of the firm for new investments
  • Implementation of the growth strategy: e.g. market analysis, deal sourcing, identification and approach of multipliers and decision makers, development and presentation of management presentations, development and implementation of a group structure, etc.
  • Project-based support in group management (e.g. project controlling, reporting, budgeting, etc.)

Requirements

Vocational training, education: Excellent Bachelor’s degree in business / economics, ideally in the areas of corporate finance, controlling or accounting, MSc., MBA, and/or CFA certification would be a plus
 
Work experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, transaction service or private equity


Knowledge

  • Extensive financial modelling, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Previous transaction experience
  • Knowledge of business growth strategy and the risk/return characteristics of private equity investment opportunities
  • Great commercial judgment
  • Good knowledge of the healthcare business from a supplier’s perspective or alternative from within a healthcare company would be a plus
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements within the healthcare market would be a plus
